Eating Healthy

July 29, 2011

Are you eating healthy these days? Let’s take your age into consideration. So many people think they can eat poorly if they’re young. However, this is not a habit to adopt so nonchalantly. Just because you’re low in years, doesn’t mean you should be scarfing down pizza, ice cream and burgers every day.

All of these processed foods take a toll on our delicate bodies. Sure, we feel the impact a little more when we get up in years, but that’s only because we’ve worn our bodies out. Now, wouldn’t it make more sense to take care of your body and treat it as a temple? Don’t you want to live a long and healthy life? Well, if you’re like most human beings, then I’m going to go ahead and assume your answer is yes. Once again, are you eating healthy?

What do you consider eating healthy? For me this has a lot to do with vitamins and fat. You want your daily requirement of vitamins, but you don’t want to consume loads of saturated fat. Now don’t get me wrong, our bodies need some fat; however, saturated fat is unhealthy fat. We all know it comes standard in ice cream and fast food. This is why it pays to shop wisely. You should always prepare your meals at home, as opposed to eating out. This will not only save you a bundle of money, but it will improve your health drastically.

You see, when you prepare your meals, you can truly control what goes in them. This is key to eating healthy. It’s prudent to avoid processed foods such as crackers, chips, cereals and snack foods. You want to implement a diet that thrives off of organic produce and meats. If you don’t go organic, then you’re consuming a lot of pesticides, hormones and antibiotics. Vegetables, meats and dairy products all contain these if they’re not organically grown. Fortunately it’s rather easy these days to attain the right information.
