The company began in the 1950s by George’s grandfather, who wanted to integrate healthy foods choices into his cafe in Redlands, California. George’s father, Jim, took over in 1976 when the popularity of sprouts and wheatgrass was growing, concentrated mainly in California and Texas. Jim brought the company to Utah, gradually established an impeccable reputation, and increased its market share across the region. George took over Nature Jim’s Sprouts from his dad in 1996 and the company continues to grow annually, regularly expanding its retail and grocery spouts presence throughout the Intermountain West.
